Anti-Obama Signs Posted Near Cane Bay

Berkeley County company has angry message for Obama voters.

Berkeley County, S.C. — Anger over the result of Tuesday's presidential election has bubbled over on the roadside not far from Cane Bay.

A sign posted along State Road rants against Obama supporters, praying that the Northeast and West Coast should fall into the ocean.

The large letter-board sign sits in front of a landscaping office at 1412 State Road. The other side reads "Did you vote for Obama? Thanks a lot asshole!"

Obama won Tuesday's election after a very contentious campaign season, but a majority of Berkeley County voters supported Republican candidate Mitt Romney. Romney won the vote in South Carolina.

Wayne Hall, listed in Berkeley County records as the owner of the property, could not be reached for comment. Another sign at the gated entrance to the property reads "Prayer is a way to meet the Lord. Trespassing is faster." Two phone numbers listed online for Hall's business were no longer working.

Edmund Jones, a nearby resident for three years and a retired Navy sailor, said he's seen messages posted on the sign before. "I've never seen profanity like this," he said. "He's calling me an asshole. I voted for Obama."

In an unrelated case, a Johns Island man is facing felony charges after he called Charleston County 911 on Wednesday, threatening to shoot President Obama.
