Ballot Filling Up for Goose Creek Election

Candidates have until noon Friday to file paperwork.

Seven candidates have filed so far for the Goose Creek City Council elections.

Candidates have until noon Friday, Feb. 3, to file. Elections will be held April 3.

The 2010 municipal elections were cancelled due to the lack of challengers for the sitting council members and Mayor Michael Heitzler.

This year, incumbents Sal Gandolfo, John McCants and Jerry Tekac will face challenges from at least four other candidates: Steve Galik, Frederick Grisham, Franklin Moore Jr. and Gerald Stinson.

Candidates must file electronically with the State Ethics Commission. A copy of the confirmed filing and a $150 filing fee must then be submitted to the Berkeley County Elections and Registration Office, 6 Belt Drive, Moncks Corner.
