Blotter: Confederate Flags Stolen

Flags hanging at Foxborough homes disappear.

The following information was supplied by the Goose Creek Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The controversy over the Confederate Flag continues in South Carolina, and in one Goose Creek neighborhood, it appears it has led to theft.

The flags were reported stolen on Tuesday afternoon, when the owner of one of the Foxborough homes called police.

He told police that the theft took place sometime between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. The flags were taken from stands in front of his home, as well as one standing in front of his mother's home next door.

Police note that anyone walking by the homes would have had easy access to the flags.

The homeowner told officers he would be replacing the flags, but wanted this theft documented in case it happens again.
