Inmate Dead at Berkeley County Jail

Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury confirmed Wednesday afternoon that an inmate had been found dead at the Hill Finklea Detention Center.

Jason Stout, 32, of Moncks Corner was found dead in his bunk at 10:25 a.m. Wednesday, according to Salisbury.

An autopsy is scheduled, he said. The Coroner's Office and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division are investigating the death.

Stout has been held since March 30 on a family court bench warrant.
