Friday Football: Goose Creek and Stratford 2-0

Final scores from this week's high school sports action.

On their road to the championship title last season, Goose Creek ran over Colleton County, 58-0. This year, it wasn't much different, with the Gators keeping Colleton off the board again, 44-0. Next week, Goose Creek hosts Summerville's Wave. When the two teams met last year, it was one of the Gators' more exciting matches.

The Stratford Knights are 2-0 with another solid win this week. They beat Sumter 21-7. Stratford will shoot for three in a row next week when the Knights host Fort Dorchester.

Cane Bay made a solid run for a second 4A win, heading into overtime against Fort Dorchester. But the Cobras lost 34-28. Cane Bay returns home next week to take on Berkeley, a team that will be very hungry for a win after a rough first two weeks.

Bishop England looked like it would be a tough challenge for Hanahan, but the Hawks brought the same energy that led to a win in the first week against Military Magnet. Hanahan beat Bishop England, 28-14. The Hawks are now 2-1.
