The Sheriff's Office began the investigation at the request of the City of Hanahan.

Hanahan Administrator Johnny Crib tells Patch that Garry performed payroll in the human resources department. She was placed on leave on Aug. 3 and resigned Aug. 8.

An HR position has since been advertised for applicants.
