Challenger Ken Gunn won the GOP Primary on Tuesday for Berkeley County Council District 3, defeating incumbent Bob Call. In the unofficial results, Gunn had 371 votes and Call had 265.
Gunn, a first-time candidate, ran on issues tied to property tax relief, including sharing fee revenues with the school district and using some sales tax revenues to reduce homeowner tax bills.

"I look forward to working as a true conservative on Berkeley County Council," Gunn told Patch on Tuesday night.
Gunn also challenged the county's decision to shutter a satellite office in Goose Creek and touted his support for the Berkeley County Republican Party agenda.
The Berkeley County Election Commission will certify the results Thursday. No Democrat will be on the ballot in November.

Congratulations Ken Gunn, we all worked hard on this race and I couldn't be happier with the results. You'll be a GREAT county councilman for Berkeley County... thank you for stepping up to the plate sticking your neck out and running for election. Well done, my friend... VERY well done.

I am happy to have you on county council. I believe that you will think for yourself and do research on matters before the council and not just be a yes man. It feels great to know that the people in your district listened to your message and wanted you to represent them.
