Two local Clemson students will be performing next week at Olympic venues in London. Sixty Clemson University musicians in the Symphonic Band and Jazz Ensemble will be making the trip this weekend.
Marketing major Rebecca Harmon and philosophy major Stacie Louis-Jacques will be sharing American music with Olympic partcipants and observers coming from around the world.
"This is a unique opportunity for our band students not only to travel abroad and learn about new cultures, but to bring the Clemson spirit to people from all over the globe," said Mark Spede, Clemson's director of bands.
Not only will the musicians perform, but they will learn about British culture and history on days set aside for sightseeing, according to a release. And, of course, they'll be attending Olympic events.
