Jimmy Buffett  sings, “I like mine with lettuce and tomato, Heinz 57…”

Burgers are a staple.

You can find a decent burger just about anywhere, but what makes it great?

Is it the toppings? The seasoning? The “real” beef patty?

Patch is looking for the “Best Burger” in town.

Have a burger place that makes your mouth water?

Vote for your favorite restaurant in Goose Creek, Mount Pleasant, Summerville and West Ashley to be part of our "Best Burger" contest as Patch unveils its Readers’ Choice. Nominations ended July 9. Winners will be announced in August.

Sesame, either one, N Chuck or the new Mt P. Different vibe at each store, but the burgers are the same, excellent.

I really like Flying Hawaiian in Summerville — though I rarely eat burgers out!

Definitely Sesame. Their home-made condiments and fresh ground beef are the reason. I like my burgers medium rare and that happens with no questions asked at Sesame. THE BEST!

We just LOVE the burgers at 17 North Restaurant in North Mount Pleasant. Hand made with truffle oil and cooked just the way we like! Great fries, good roll.

Tattooed Moose! But it ain't in the area of interest I gather. My wife and I go to Sesame at Citadel Mall quite often and it is good, but they get her burger wrong 99% of the time. In fact, they have only gotten it right ONCE. It is a family joke now....

Good point Greg Tompkins, how is Charleston proper not included in this contest. How does Charleston not have a "patch?"

We're looking forward to expanding into other communities in the Lowcountry. But we're taking our time and making sure that each Patch shines before we grow. Stay tuned!

Matt's has the best burgers in Summerville, hands-down. Five Guys burgers are awesome of course but nothing can beat the uniqueness of Matt's.

Sesame used to be awesome but lately they've been disappointing. I don't go there anymore because the food (not to mention the service) has been just so-so ever since they opened their second location (Citadel Mall, I think?).
