There's a feeling you get when you drive into a good neighborhood.

Maybe it’s seeing the children waving to you as they take a break from a basketball game.

Maybe it’s the moms talking to one another on the front lawn, sipping a cool beverage.

Maybe it’s the dads trimming a bush or watering the grass.

It feels like … home.

We want to know what neighborhoods in your community make you feel like home.

Vote for your favorite in Goose Creek, Mount Pleasant, Summerville and West Ashley in our "Best Neighborhood" contest as Patch unveils its Readers' Choice. Nominations ended July 9. Winners will be announced in August.

Don't just vote, tell us why you picked your favorite in the comments. If your favorite isn't on the list, throw them a shout out in the comments below.

Old Village of Mt. P hands down. I rented there for 6 months before we bought our home off of 17 in Mt. P, and absolutely loved the small town feel and friendly neighborhood. I could hop on my bike and go anywhere I needed to go. Neighbors always wave, people walking their dogs always have them on leashes, cars stop to let you cross while you're out walking, and it's a mild skip to get to the beach on Sullivans. I miss living over there. If I rode my bike outside of the neighborhood now (off 17 and Mathis Ferry), I'd probably get hit by a car there's so much traffic. Will be even worse when the new big box stores move in since Mt. P sold us out.

Pine Forest in Summerville! We have the best neighbors, golf course & location. It's great for families as well as retirees. Just minutes from Downtown Summerville and a quick jog to the highway for Charleston. I cannot say enough about the good-hearted people who live there. It's truly like a family! Our family has been so happy here - perfect fit!

Park Circle - All the great businesses that have opened up and the great old neighborhoods! Nice hometown feel.
