At the end of today's otherwise typical Charleston rally also starring Gov. Nikki Haley and GOP frontrunner Mitt Romney, a slip for former GOP nominee John McCain made for the most interesting moment.

Speaking to the crowd of several hundred gathered just two weeks before the South Carolina primary, McCain said:

"I am confident, with the leadership and the backing of the American people, President Obama will turn this country around."

He meant, of course, that presidential hopeful Mitt Romney could turn things around.

Haley, Romney and the crowd quickly corrected him.

"President Romney. President Romney. President Romney," he growled.

(Reuters) - U.S. presidential hopeful Mitt Romney's tax plan would cut revenues and increase the government's budget deficit, while benefiting wealthy taxpayers more than others, said a report from a non-partisan think tank released on Thursday.

That was not a mistake, it was McCain that won the election for Obama.

McCain kind of reminds me of Ted Kennedy when he started getting a little senile toward the end of his senate career. McCain should be admired for his heroism during Vietnam war as a pow, but his political career has come and gone and he should step aside. Do I want to vote for the republican candidate who couldn't beat McCain, who, then , in turn, couldn't beat Obama ? I think not

Sen. McCain's military service is admirable. He's a true hero. Unfortunately, the same can't be said about his tenure as a Senator.

RepubliCONs selected McCain as their nominee for president and gave us eight years of the TARP infecting Bush, better known as Mr. Great Recession. Now they want us to have confidence in their selection of Romney?
