Chavis was linked to the 2012 shooting by law enforcement after he suffered a gunshot wound to his arm.

According to a Goose Creek Police statement, the initial investigation revealed that Allen was the victim of multiple gunshot wounds and that Chavis had been in the vehicle with Allen at the time of Allen’s death.
