It's that time of year to slather on thick layer of bug spray before heading out into the mosquito feeding grounds of the Lowcountry.

Homeowner Walt Boulware told ABC News 4 last week that the bugs are "pretty ferocious, especially those little salt marsh mosquitoes."

Live 5 News spoke with Mary Anna Lewis, owner of Mosquito Squad. She rated the local mosquito threat as worst in Hanahan, followed by Daniel Island and James Island.

We want to hear from you. Take the poll above to tell us where the mosquitoes are at their worst.

Be sure to leave a comment if you've got specific areas of the Lowcountry where we'll need a larger bottle of bug spray.
