Fire stations were a hot topic leading up the City Council election in April. The headquarters station is in a state of disrepair and there is inadequate fire protection in the Walmart area. I am proud to announce that City Council has authorized architects to begin design of two new fire stations. A headquarters station to be located beside the department of public works building (on city owned property) and a substation to be located on property near Walmart.
