Due to the recent heavy rainfall, a minor sanitary sewer overflow occurred in Berkeley County at two pump stations. The following pump stations were affected:
- 441 Liberty Hall Road, Goose Creek, SC 29445
- 731 St. James Ave, Goose Creek, SC 29445
Berkeley County Water and Sanitation crews are working to correct the system and signs are being posted in the affected areas to notify residents of the overflow. DHEC officials have also been notified and upon correction, the areas will be disinfected and deodorized.
Residents are asked to please avoid any standing water in these areas as a safety precaution.
