PowerBall Surges to $290 Million

Saturday's drawing estimated at $290 million for the PowerBall Jackpot.

Saturday’s Powerball jackpot drawing is for an estimated $290 MILLION, with a cash payout of $168 million.

A Bethune couple fell one number short of stopping the jackpot run last Saturday, collecting a $1 million prize this week.

Two unclaimed tickets worth $40,000 each were sold at the Oakbrook Express in Summerville and the Hot Spot #1201 in Easley for Wednesday night’s drawing. Both tickets matched four white ball numbers and the red Powerball® number (8, 24, 39, 49 and 59 PB: 5) with PowerPlay to win $40,000 when claimed.

But if it’s the $290 million you’re after, South Carolinians must purchase Powerball® tickets by 9:59 p.m. for Saturday’s 10:59 p.m. drawing. Powerball® tickets are $2 and available wherever tickets are sold.

The odds of winning the jackpot are long, about 1 in 176 million.
