What Jesus Wears for Halloween...

I'm a pastor and my kids go trick r treating for Halloween. What's that say about the Church?

Isn't Halloween the one day a year when we can all take a chill pill on the "dark side?" It's supposed to be fun... We dress up our kids, take 'em out door-to-door and get some Candy.  What can be better than free candy

But lets be honest, in the back of our minds there is a limit to all of this. Somewhere in there is a conscience that says, "There's something about this that is a little creepy."

So, is that enough to put up our guard against such a fun holiday?  Should we only dress our daughters up as fairies and princesses because we wouldn't want to scare anyone?

Maybe more importantly, what does God think about a license for one day a year to celebrate death and the darkness?

This Sunday at our worship gathering for The Church at Cane Bay, we're planning an honest, fun and practical conversation about Halloween.  As part of our "Awakening" series, we'll take a look at some wise choices parents can make in preparation for "All Hallow's Eve."
