Obituary: Claudette Celeste Hazeres

Services were Saturday.

Claudette Celeste Hazeres, age 78, of Goose Creek SC, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at a local nursing facility. She was born in Winona MN on July 3, 1935 to the late Ewald Czaplewski and Ruby Kiral Czaplewski.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She lived a very active life and travelled around the world. She spoke both Japanese and Spanish. She worked at the Charleston Transportation Depot and at Sears. She also did voluntary work at the Myrtle Beach Air Force Base where she taught arts and crafts at the school on the Base. She also worked with the Girl Scouts and the Cub Scouts. She did voluntary work for 9 years at Northwoods Academy where she taught first grade. She sang at the Naval Weapons Station Chapel and at Goose Creek United Methodist Church for several years. She enjoyed dancing, art, people, and skating.

Claudette is survived by her son: Michael Hazeres (Rose) of Summerville SC; daughters: Karen Kopczynski (Don) of Goose Creek SC, and Vicki Sweatman (Daryl) of Summerville SC; grandsons: Michael Hazeres (Michelle) of Goose Creek SC, Bryan Kopczynski (Elizabeth) of Summerville SC, Jamie Hazeres of Summerville SC, and Scott Sweatman of Summerville SC; granddaughters: Samantha Hazeres of Goose Creek SC, and Dana Sweatman of Summerville SC; great grandchildren: Lucas, Jazmine, Mia, Haleigh, Melody, and Jessalynn.

Funeral services was 3:00 PM on Saturday August 3, 2013 at Goose Creek United Methodist Church, 142 Red Bank Rd Goose Creek, SC 29445. Interment followed at 4:30 PM in Carolina Memorial Park. The family received friends from 1:00 PM until the hour of service on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Goose Creek United Methodist Church.
