Grace Altman Poston, 80, of Hanahan passed peacefully at her home on Sunday evening, July 14, 2013. Mrs. Poston was born on October 20, 1932 to the late Clarence and Gracie Stone Altman of Johnsonville, SC. GraceAltman married Clifton Hoover Poston on July 4, 1955. They had a son who was born April 2, 1957, Clifton Wendell Poston. Mrs. Poston, who was a Christian of Baptist faith, was a member of The Senior Center of Hanahan, and a previous employee of The Cigar Factory and Shoney's. In her younger adult years, she played on a ladies softball team and coached youth softball teams. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She adored her two grandsons and held an active part in their lives. She loved working in her yard, growing and sharing her many plants, playing cards with her friends, and giving to others. She was loved by all who met her.

She is predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Clifton Hoover Poston. She is survived by their only son, Clifton Wendell Poston (Yvonne) of Goose Creek, SC and two grandsons, Kyle Aaron and Kerry Wendell Poston, both of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by four brothers, CW Altman (Fannie Bell), OB Altman (Joann), Billy Altman (Shirley), Barry Altman (Julie); three sisters, Ida Francis Eaddy (Dale Koonce), Susan Reid (Sheldon), Margaret Owens and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Intrepid Hospice for their compassion and outstanding care of Mrs.Poston during her final days. Mrs. Poston was laid to rest next to her husband in the Good Shepherd section of Carolina Memorial Park, Plot 247.
