Blotter: Roaming Bodysuit Boys Busted

Also, a bookshelf break-up and a sign of the times.

The following information was supplied by the police departments in the City of Goose Creek and the City of Hanahan. It does not indicate a conviction.

Bodysuit Boys Busted

Halloween came early for Goose Creek Police, who were asked to investigate suspicious behavior on Oct. 1 on St. James Avenue. An officer arrived at the Zaxby's parking lot to find two boys, ages 14 and 15, clad head-to-toe in black bodysuits.

The teens removed their hoods and were cooperative, explaining that they were trying on their Halloween costumes at home and decided it would be fun to walk around wearing them.

The officer educated the boys on the city's ordinance against concealing your identity in public, and they were released to their parents.

Bookshelf Break-Up

Officers arrived at a Crowfield home on Oct. 4 to address a civil dispute. A woman claimed her ex-boyfriend had taken a chainsaw to her bookshelf. She said he'd ended the relationship and notified her that he'd destroyed the bookshelf.

Upon inspection, officers noted the bookshelf was torn apart, but the damage didn't appear to be from a chainsaw. The boyfriend told police that it was his property. The woman was told she could seek relief through a civil case.

Signs, Signs …

There has been a lot of talk about the signs of the housing crisis — but this is a case of actual signs of the housing crisis.

A couple called Hanahan Police on Oct. 6 after a neighbor informed them that someone had put posters up all over their Otranto neighborhood regarding a civil dispute.

There were six different posters that centered on a claim that the couple wasn't paying rent. They told police that they don't rent the property. They have been under a lease and the owner received foreclosure papers earlier this year.
