The following information was supplied by the Goose Creek Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
A family dispute in Fairfax on Monday evening allegedly included two women firing off guns, though apparently not at each other.
Police responded to the home at 5:15 p.m. Monday regarding a report of shots fired. A woman told police that, in defending herself in a family dispute, she pulled out a gun and hit the female family member over the head twice.
As the dispute continued, the woman said she ran out to the back yard and shot a bullet in the air to alert neighbors in hopes that someone would call police. At that point, she claimed to hear a shot from the front yard.
She believes the family member she was tussling with grabbed a gun from one of the vehicles out front. The suspect left the scene prior to officers arriving. The victim did not want to press charges.
