Fundraisers For Families of Slaying Victims

Shocked at tragedy, community comes together over the weekend.

The slow unravelling last week of the disappearance and eventual discovery of Dana Woods and June Guerry shocked the Berkeley County communities impacted.

Both women were found shot to death in the Francis Marion National Forest, with their car burnt nearby. Two men, both 23, have each been charged with two counts of murder in the case and are currently held at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center without bond.

ABC News 4 spoke with Melissa Still, who knew the victims and the suspects.

"I just don't understand it, and it shocked me more than anything and it angered me, too," she told the station. "Those girls didn't deserve what happened to them and the families don't deserve it either." Read more of the News 4 report.

Over the weekend, residents came together through fundraising programs to benefit the families of the two women.
