Goose Creek Heating & Air a 'Hero for Fire Victims'

Local business one of two honored by Lowcountry Red Cross for donation.

The Lowcountry chapter of the American Red Cross has honored Goose Creek Heating & Air for its donation in support of local fire victims.

So far this month, the Red Cross has assisted 110 individuals impacted by home fires — 24 percent more than in July 2011.

That aid includes emergency shelter, financial assistance to help replace the food, clothing and shoes lost in the fire, comfort kits filled with personal hygiene supplies, assistance with lost medicine and disaster mental services, if needed, according to the Red Cross.

That work is only possible with the support of donors. Robbie Wright and Goose Creek Heating & Air were presented with a plaque of appreciation for supporting a family through the American Red Cross Heroes for Fire Victims campaign.

The Heroes campaign provides an avenue for individuals and businesses to donate to support a family of four with a $1,250 donation that typically covers those costs associated with supporting those victims.

The Red Cross also honored Rob Jarrett and Coastal Air Solutions of Moncks Corner for its partnership with Heroes for Fire Victims.
