Poll: Sick of Politics on Facebook

With less than 60 days until Election Day, Facebook is packed with political talk.

As the Presidential race swings into high gear, the political discourse on Facebook has reached epic proportions.

Hardly an hour goes by without some new posting proclaiming one party or candidate's virtues or the lack thereof.

The overly political tone of Facebook has forced some folks to take a break from the popular social media site. Others have defriended folks who post too often about their political beliefs.

We want to know how you're handling all the political banter. Vote in our poll below and share your thoughts in the comment section.

I think a person can change their political bent if they're open to new ideas, better or worse. And the political parties have obviously changed over time including flip/flopping in the 1950s and 60s. I feel like they're both sitting to the right now, with the Democrats occupying the political space the Republicans held in the 80s and 90s.

I thought Obama ads were bad on Facebook. Now, it's the Patch! Come on guys, I know you want to make money from advertising, but this looks like an Obama site with so many ads. Three (3) just on this page.

Romney's only advertising on the sites of exclusive country clubs.

Romney ads have been on Patch. But, much like TV ads, the Obama campaign is outspending Romney online. In the heat of the primary, you'd have found Santorum and Gingrich ads on here, not just Obama. We've also had several local Republican advertise directly on our sites.
