What to expect from public meetings in Goose Creek and Berkeley County.

The Goose Creek City Council meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday in council chambers at City Hall, 519 N. Goose Creek Boulevard.

The council will give the . The city is planning a budget with no property tax increase, but will be increasing the sanitation tax from $75 to $135. The increase is an effort to make the waste collection program pay for itself.

Council members will also hear two requests for rezoning. Owners of the Green Pointe mobile home park on Myers Road are requesting the r. The 22-acre property includes access to St. James Avenue.

The second request is for light industrial zoning for two lots on Walkers Lane behind the J.W. Aluminum facility. Both requests were unanimously approved by the city's Planning Commission.

The council will also hear a recommendation from staff to contract architects for the on Brandywine Boulevard near the public works facility, as well as a new substation near the St. James Avenue Walmart.

Berkeley County Council will hold committee meetings in the assembly room at the county administration building, 1003 Highway 52, Moncks Corner. Meetings include the Water and Sanitation, Community Services, Justice and Public Safety, Land Use, Public Works and Purchasing and Finance committees. See agendas here.

The Berkeley County School Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the board room in the administration building at 231 E. Main Street, Moncks Corner.

Hanahan City Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in council chambers at the Hanahan Municipal Complex, 1255 Yeamans Hall Road.
