Former Goose Creek Star Battles to Come Back After ACL Tear

Terry Tramel is Mr. Football-South Carolina.

Mr. Football-South Carolina 2012 could be on the bench for the University of Georgia this season, RedandBlack.com reported.

Former Gator Tramel Terry suffered an ACL tear during kickoff in the Shrine Bowl in December 2012. A top college recruit, Terry completed his senior year early and began classes at the University of Georgia in January.

Terry and his coaches told RedandBlack.com that he's not back to 100 percent just yet from the tear and subsequent surgery.

RedandBlack.com reported:

“Tramel is in a rush. He wants to play so bad you can just see it,” Georgia head coach Mark Richt said. “We want him to be 100 percent healthy. He’s healthy enough to practice or he wouldn’t be out there, but we know he’s going to get better and better, and healthier and healthier. Whether it happens this year or not remains to be seen, but we don’t want to push him before he’s ready. We’re going to keep practicing him. He’s getting better everyday, but I know it’s not coming as fast as he wants it to come.”
