Halloween, Basketball, Art Classes on Recreation Calendar

Upcoming programs and activities at Goose Creek Recreation: 

BASKETBALL REGISTRATION

Register October 22-November 8 at the Goose Creek Community or the Casey Community Center. Leagues available for ages 5-17.  All leagues are co-ed.  League fee is $35. Participant’s birth certificate and two proofs of residency required to register.

PLAYER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

This is a new program that includes exercise and fitness training designed for both beginner and serious athletes. For ages 10 to adult, this program provides workouts that are goal oriented, challenging but fun. Four-week session runs Sundays, October 28-November 18 at the Community Center gym.  Ages 10-13 are 1:30-2:30 pm; ages 14-18 are 2:40-3:40 pm; advanced students are 3:50-4:50 pm An eight-week session is available for varsity level athletes and runs on Sundays, 5-6 pm from October 28-December 16.  Program fee for four-week session is $80 / $85 non-resident and for the eight week session $150 / $155 non-resident. 

HALLOWEEN CARNIVAL AND OUTDOOR MOVIE

Free event featuring carnival games and candy, jump castle and face painting.  Following the carnival will be a showing of “Madagascar 3” on the big outdoor screen. Saturday, Oct. 27, beginning at 5 pm by the Goose Creek Community Center.  Movie begins at 7 pm. Bring your chairs or blankets to enjoy the show. 

ONE STROKE PAINTING CLASSES

For ages 12-adult, these classes do not require any painting experience.  Classes held on Mondays from 6:30-8:30 pm at the Casey Community Center.

October 15 class features a whimsical design of pumpkins on storage jars.

October 22 class involves a painting of a heron and water lily on a tray.

Fee per class is $15 and $17 for non-residents plus supplies

FUN WITH CERAMICS

For ages 14 to adult, this class teaches the basic of painting ceramics and applying decals. Students will take home at least two completed pieces.  Class fee is $25 / $27 non-resident
