Is one of the facts that there is man made global warming?

Common Core is government pushed elite based crap designed to dumb down American students turningRead More them into mindless labor drones. 2+2 does not equal 5 no matter how you justify the process.

Reading cursive is a skill that allows people to read original documents. You are dependent onRead More someone's transcription otherwise. Mistakes happen in transcriptions and deliberate changes in wording can occur. How will you know if you can't read the original words? Hundreds of years of writing will be lost.

If you allow this President to interpret our Constitution for you, you will soon be in literalRead More chains rather than the figurative ones we are already placed in. He will tell you that the Government gives you your Rights rather than God. We should be able to read a Declaration of Independence and a Constitution and understand them for ourselves.

Common core and allowing the Failing FEDERAL Government control the learning in our schools isRead More insane. 2+2 does not equal 5 and NEVER WILL. The US Government has recently succeeded in destroying the reputation of the USA in every other country on the planet. They have undermined the US economy destroyed the job base and continuously blame other people for these problems they caused. They cannot even control the homosexual, cocaine abusing, crack head, criminally pathological liar they have in the White House. (All of these have been proven)

Thank you 5 War Veteran, for your comments. I have 2 children in Public School and have noticed theRead More obvious difference in what is studied; how long; main points of study; amount of homework; the common threads of global/societal/racial/environmental themes. This new "rigorous" curriculum will NOT produced the outcome some are expecting. However, I believe that many will get exactly what they expect...an indoctrinated generation of entitlement-expecting, tree-hugging, socialist-revering, U.S. apologizing nitwits!

Part Three: Morals! They can't be tasted, smelled, touched. But they can be seen all over the place.Read More Oxymoron? Hardly! Morals are God instilled. God is a 'moral' God. He put them in us. Along with morals, God gave humans what's termed "Free Will" and that's where religious leaders have failed to talk to the flock about. God, upon creating the human race, could have made us robots...sort of how animals are...in a way. But He lovingly provided us with a free will so we could prove to Him that we really LOVE Him. Please see Part Four.
Robert Ponce November 5, 2013 at 04:45 pm
Part Four: When God made the first human couple, He told them they would "become many and fillRead More the earth." Sex was involved. Sex for humans and by design, wasn't a mechanical 'in & out' urge. Psychology has learned how intricately woven sex is for a man and a woman's well being....physical and psychological. Animals don't have this. When God designed sex, it not only provide the way for how future humans were to be born but God added several loving gifts that accompany sex. Those 'Godly Gifts' are 'bonding', assurance, warmth, security, good physical and mental health, familiarity, humility, meekness, caring, friendship, loyalty, personal pleasure but above all else...LOVE for one another. all of this was by design but not without certain restrictions. And that's where (as I stated previously) Religion has failed to train the flocks conscience to obey God rather than self. See Part Five.
Robert Ponce November 5, 2013 at 04:51 pm
Part Five: In conclusion, we find that having sex isn't an altruistic gift to man from God. SinceRead More mankind has exercised his "free will" to ignore God's rules on sex, well.... what you plainly see here, are the ramifications resulting in full bloom. From God, the rules to get and enjoy this gift (sex) are: Marriage between a man and a woman. That's it. Not married? No sex! Simple but ignored to the hilt.

When my daughter was in 4th grade and she would get home get a snack and start her homework, stopRead More long enough to eat dinner and back to homework, take a shower and back to homework and sometime around 11pm,12am or 1am she would finish and don't think it was because she was that slow because she was in advance classes. I talked to the teachers and they would say the same thing "the state is making us give them this amount of homework, we have no choice". I would tell my daughter to take breaks and sometimes she did and other times she just worked through to get it done; It tore me up to see what they were doing to my daughter. I helped her all I could but it was never enough. By the 5th grade she had an awesome teacher that gave little homework and it felt like heaven after a year of pure hell for her. She was gaining weight from no exercise (7 hours at school sitting and then 8 to 11 hour at home sitting doing her school work, she was getting no sun and I would sit with her outside while she worked as long as she wanted. This was pure hell to watch and i begged her teachers to back off with the homework but if she wanted to pass she had to get it done. If she was out sick for each day she had 14 pages of make-up work to do within days. She is now in 6th grade and the homework is at most times not much but we will never forget that year and whaat they put her through.

I agree with France. Although I'm inclined to be of the belief that Boo Boos' parents aren'tRead More peddling their obese, petit piccolina for anything BUT their own immature desire to play (AS WHEN THEY WERE JUVENILES) house and dolls but this time with real live dolls.....their own cute little terrorist.

Yes, I am surprised that Boulder Bluff actually got a B, should be more like a D. There was a timeRead More when it was a good school, back when my children went there. Now 25 years later and the same teachers teaching the same classes with way less caring. Both of my grandchildren went there for a short time and they actually regressed and had to pretty much start all over when they got to a new school. They need to rename it Boulder Bluff Retirement Home
Hanahan Elementary scored an A, but the district as a whole scored a B.

Our teachers need helpers in their classrooms for all the math classes (calculus), the classes whereRead More the kids need that extra help in because the teacher has a timeline and can't slow down to help them ( I have been in my sons class and the teacher said take out a book to read and withing 3 minutes they were onto another subject) they were jumping from one subject to another with no time to spare, it was crazy! this would give teachers in training a job or even out of work teachers a job. When you get scoring like this then it means that 1 teacher to every 25-30 kids is not enough.

Enjoyed the discussion, but would like to add a comment. One of the purposes of college is toRead More introduce new or differing ideas for students to hear, to read, in order to learn to make intelligent personal decisions. It is part of education process and should be considered. Literature is designed to address this part of the process. It is not simply a celebration of the written word.

The bearded guy was hard to understand, bad acoustics maybe. Anyway, colleges should be sensitive toRead More religious students, when requiring a book with pornography in it. The issue is not homosexuality, but pornography. I bet if I were a Bible believing Christian, or Orthodox Jew, or a Qur'an believing Muslim, I would probably feel it is a sin to read pornographic depictions of sex acts. Even if it is married heterosexual couples in the book. It incites lust, and the Bible is against lust. I attended a very liberal college in New York, with very few religious students, but still, in our required English course, there was no pornographic reading. I guess being an unbeliever, I would have enjoyed the lust, but I can imagine some religious student deciding to drop out of the college due to the course, and look for a new college. We should be sensitive to such students. In an optional class this is OK, the religious student can just drop the class. But with a required class, the student would be faced with the decision to drop out of the college, wasting his or her tuition money. Or at best drop the required English course, finish the other classes, and transfer the finished credits to another college.

Stop them. This just the beginning. First dialogue then attacks against all that don't accept theRead More "Homosexual Agenda". Look what they did to the military. Saw this first hand in The Bronx NY. Here in Public School they teach 5-6 graders how to properly put a condom on a banana. Wake up Charleston.

Ever wonder why the tax payers get stuck with paying for this instead of the developers that causedRead More to overcrowding? The county charges the developers a $1000 fee for each house that is supposed to go into this sort of thing. I guess they spent it all on the traffic light. If they let them build a development of that size they should make them at least build an elementary school. Same with Liberty Hall, Brick Hope and all the other developments

Well inhibiting a persons freedom of speech is a legal offense unless they are members of the USRead More Government. Then the !st amendment has little meaning anymore. Apparently there are now verbal terrorists who are threats to National Security. Imagine that in George Orwells 1984.
I guess no one told Mr Murray that he was elected chairman not tyrannical dictator.

Yeah Right, clarification? I think they just got tired of hearing the truth. It wasn't that longRead More ago that the county voted for a tax increase for the schools, and some good was done with that. Then they put this one on the ballot and the majority fell for it, even renovating new schools. After that passed they said they still don't have enough money, so what gives here? Is the school board so incompetent that it cannot even project a budget? Not sure I want them in charge of my childrens' education

Let us not forget the effectiveness of Zero Tolerance. Kids being suspended and expelled for playingRead More cops and robbers with sticks. Deaf children told to change their names because their "signed" name looks too much like a gun? Suspended for carrying a one inch plastic lego gun? Or my grand daughter suspended for slapping a boy who grabbed her boobs. (Caught on video) Apparently the kid had done it to many girls and been reported numerous times before. I only wished she had busted his nose.

"ohand i get yo mt pleasant post in CA" That I'm able to post proves definitively thatRead More I'm either a lizard, aligned with and colluding with the lizards, or a compromised puppet controlled by the lizards. Cest la vie.
