The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office will host its annual Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office Summer Deputy Camp for students 8-12 years of age this year. Camp dates are July 15 through July 19, 2013. Participation is limited to the first 50 students who return a completed parental consent and registration form along with a check or money order for $75.00 made payable to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, Crime Prevention Unit. Two adults and two children escape blaze uninjured.
A family's home has been destroyed in Boulder Bluff following a late night fire at 12:30 a.m. Friday. According to Assistant Fire Chief Norm Cutshall, the fire at 408 Delmont Drive began on the porch and spread to the roof. Firefighters extinguished the blaze within 10 minutes but the home had already been destroyed. The two children and two adults residing in the home escaped uninjured but the family dog perished.

Early Tuesday morning shooting hits three people, injuring one seriously.
Three people are injured after a Tuesday morning shooting off of Redbank Road, ABC News 4 reported. The car, where the people were injured, was reportedly shot 18 times in parking lot of Club Pluto. Club Pluto was also the site of a battle royal and the origin of another shooting that also injured three. The victims and the car were at Trident hospital when the report was made. Three men are facing several drug-related charges after the North Charleston Police Department served a search warrant on a home on Ashley Shores Drive
Two North Charleston men and a third man from Ladson are facing several drug-related charges following a search at a home on Ashley Shores Drive. North Charleston Police searched the home at 3851 Ashley Shores Drive as part of an ongoing investigation, according to a NCPD statement. They recovered 3.1 grams of marijuana, 139 grams of cocaine and 71.4 grams of cocaine base, along with items used to weigh, manufacture and distribute illegal items, and a Phoenix Arms .25 caliber handgun. Berkeley County Sheriff's Office says trooper not at fault for Friday wreck in Sangaree, following a truck v. motorcycle wreck.
Berkeley County deputies say a S.C. Highway Patrol trooper en route to a wreck in the Sangaree area of 17-A was not at fault when an SUV allegedly pulled in front of him. The wreck involving the trooper happened at around 7:15 a.m. Friday near Highway 176. The trooper was headed to a wreck between a truck and a motorcycle at Old Summerville Road. Berkeley County Sheriff's Office released this statement: The initial investigation reveals that the trooper did have blue lights and siren activated when the Cruiser struck a Jeep SUV. Teacher suffered injuries as she tried to stop two women from taking a child from her classroom.
Westview Primary officials are calling the actions of a teacher — who tried but failed to keep two women from allegedly kidnapping one of her students — heroic, according to Live 5 News. Meanwhile, Berkeley County School District is reviewing its safety proceedures with law enforcement. On May 2, Ferdauss Rahmatullah and Neely Blanchard allegedly walked into Westview Primary and illegally took Blanchard's 4-year-old child. Blanchard does not have custody of the child, according to Goose Creek Police. During the incident, Rahmatullah and Neely gained access to the school. Westview schools locked down briefly Thursday due to nearby incident.
Goose Creek Police launched a manhunt Thursday afternoon after a Pineview resident said two men, armed with a hatchet and an axe, invaded his house on Wilmer Drive. The incident sparked a locked down of nearby Westview Elementary, Middle and Primary schools. Goose Creek Police responded to the home at around 12:29 p.m. Thursday, after the resident had fled to a neighboring business. The intruders had already left the residence. Police set up a perimeter and had a canine search the area, but no suspects were found. The suspects have been described as two black men wearing black, hooded shirts and ski masks.
