Brad Bowles named Head Coach at St. John's.
A Goose Creek Gator assistant coach will leave the team to become the Head Coach of St. John's football team on Johns Island, Live 5 News reported. Brad Bowles has been with the Gators since 2010 and has been in charge of the Outside Linebackers. Gators are an AAAA team, and St. John's is an A team. Click here to read more.

Kalan Ritchie will play for the Gamecocks in 2014.
Gator No. 85 is heading to Columbia to become South Carolina Gamecock, Live 5 News reported. Goose Creek tight end Kalan Ritchie reportedly made his announcement via Twitter last week, saying: "I have committed to the University of South Carolina #Gamecocks." Prior to the announcement, Ritchie had said he was leaning toward USC. Ritchie has offers from University of South Carolina, Clemson, and Virginia Tech, according to 247Sports.com. USC offered when Ritchie was a sophomore in early 2012. Ritchie will play his senior year this fall for the Gators.

USC running back taken in the fourth round of the 2013 NFL Draft.
Marcus Lattimore is now a San Francisco 49er. The former star USC running back was taken as the 131st overall pick in the fourth round of the NFL Draft on Saturday afternoon. Lattimore is the first player out of Byrnes High School to have ever been drafted by an NFL team. Once a predicted first-rounder, many were wondering whether Lattimore might get drafted at all after a devastating knee injury this past season against Tennessee. By all accounts, Lattimore has made an incredible recovery, saying that he would be ready to play by the start of the upcoming NFL season. Cardinals select Andre Ellington in the fourth round of the NFL draft.
A Berkeley County native has made the leap from college ball to pro ball during the 2013 NFL draft. Former Clemson running back Andre Ellington was drafted to the Arizona Cardinals Saturday, according to RevengeoftheBirds.com. Ellington was the 187th pick in the draft in the sixth round. USC just one of many offers on the table for Gator tight end.
Goose Creek Gator tight end Kalan Ritchie is warming to the idea of signing with the University of South Carolina. Ritchie told the Post and Courier that the Gamecocks are a top contender last week. The publication quoted Ritchie: “All the coaches got to meet my family, and my mother really likes the school,” said Ritchie, a 6-5, 215-pound junior. “That’s a big factor. They went more in depth about education and the resources I would have if I went there.” Ritchie has offers from University of South Carolina, Clemson, and Virginia Tech, according to 247Sports.com. Trident Health offering free physicals for student athletes twice this month.
Trident Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation is offering free pre-participation physicals to all Berkeley County students. Physicals are: All physicals will include a general medical and musculoskeletal screen; on-hand staff will consist of athletic trainers, orthopaedic physicians, and primary care physicians. Staff from Lowcountry Orthopaedics and South Carolina Sports Medicine will also be on hand. Student athletes should contact their school coaches or athletic trainers for more information. Austin Savage will play for the Charleston Battery after four years at Clemson.
A former Stratford High School and Clemson University soccer standout will join the Charleston Battery pro soccer team this year. Forward Austin Savage, who set a school record for goals while at Stratford and then played for Clemson for four years, will join the team's this year. The Battery open play on April 13. Goose Creek Gators were ranked No. 11 nationwide with 26 consecutive wins before being disqualified for self-reporting an ineligible player.
Goose Creek Gators may be one step closer to resolution as the S.C. House and Senate work to take power away from the S.C. High School League that disqualified them from play last year. While the league has promised some changes, one legislator called it "lipstick on a pig" and many Gator fans remain unsatisfied.
