The body of a 29-year-old Salters, S.C. resident was found electrocuted near a transformer in Cainhoy following a power outage Sunday
Authorities found the body of 29-year-old Zachary Jones of Salters, SC near a transformer in Cainhoy Sunday mroning, according to a statement from the Berkeley County Coroner's Office. Jones' body had been electrocuted and was found in a pit around a transformer at a power substation in the Cainhoy area. The death was ruled accidental, according to the statement. A fence around the substation had been cut. A crew of Berkeley Co-Op employees found Jones' body while checking the substation during a power outage Sunday around 10:45 a.m.

A Hanahan man is charged with infliction of great bodily injury upon a child after his 5-month-old son went to the hospital with a fractured skull
Derek Allan Stilson, 23, of Hanahan is facing a count of infliction of great bodily injury after his 5-month-old son was rushed to an area hospital with a skull fracture. Stilson was charged Friday and his son remains in critical condition at Medical University Hospital, according to Hanahan Police Department. The child has been placed in protective custody. Stilson's bail was set at $250,000. He is being held at the Hill Finklea Detention Center in Berkeley County. According to the incident report, on Feb. 19, Stilson allegedly threw the infant on the living room floor after being unable to calm the baby down. It wasn't until Feb. 21 when Stilson called 911. North Charleston man shot early Saturday morning.
Berkeley County Sheriff's Office deputies are seeking the public's help in a homicide investigation in the Goose Creek area. Deputies responded to the report of a shooting at 2:30 a.m. at 130 Jean Wells Drive. They found 27-year-old Deandrae White, of North Charleston. White had been shot and died later in the morning at the Medical University of South Carolina. "No arrest has been made at this time, but the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office is pursuing all information in an effort to locate a suspect in this murder," said Sheriff's Office spokesman Dan Moon. A North Charleston man is dead following an early-morning shooting on Jean Well Drive. Police responded to the home at 3 a.m., according to Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury. D'Andrae White, 27, was transported to the Medical University of South Carolina, where he was pronounced dead at 4:15 a.m. Salisbury said an autopsy will be conducted and more information should be available later Saturday. The shooting is being investigated by the Berkeley County Coroner's Office and the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office.

St. Stephen man charged with manufacturing methamphetamine.
The Berkeley County Sheriff's Department announced the latest in a growing list of meth lab arrests in the county. Jon Edward Sumler, of 129 Eggleston Way, St. Stephen, is currently being held at Hill-Finklea Detention Center. Sumler faces several charges related to a search of his home Dec. 23 that included the discovery of components used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine, according to Sheriff's Department spokesman Dan Moon. Items found included Sudafed pill containers, Coleman fuel, coffee filters, salt and multiple plastic jugs with various liquids and solids, according to Moon. Homicide suspected after body found in car.
The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office has made an arrest after a young man's body was found in his car Thursday morning in Pineville. Devonte Gaillard, 20, of 320 Echo Lane, Pineville, was arrested Thursday evening and charged with murder, according to the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office. The body of Bradley Steven Blake, 21, of St. Stephen, was found at 11 a.m. Thursday in his car at 351 Willowood Lane, according to Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury. Sheriff's Office spokesman Dan Moon said the investigation continues into Blake's death.

The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office and the Berkeley County Coroner are investigating a possible homicide in the Pineville area. The body of Bradley Blake, 21, of St. Stephen, was found at 11 a.m. Thursday. The young man was found dead in his car on Willowood Road, according to Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury. More information is expected to be released following the autopsy, said Salisbury.

ANd we wonder why they do not teach parenting in high school? With 2 working parent families things are no longer learned or taught and idiots are becoming parents. At this point sterilization would be an effective tool.   more ›
