Victim reportedly fell off a dock, according to Lexington coroner.
A 32-year-old Goose Creek man died Friday night in a drowning on Lake Murray. David W. Woods was visiting 532 Harbor Heights Drive in Lexington when he fell off the dock at approximately 11 p.m. Friday and didn't surface, according to Lexington County Coroner Harry O. Harman. Woods' body was retrieved from the water by friends, according to Harman. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident is under investigation by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department. The State newspaper notes this is the second drowning on the lake in a week. An 87-year-old man appears to have drowned after slipping on rocks in waist-deep water June 23.
