Marrington Students 'Purple Up!' to Celebrate Military Kids

Marrington Elementary students take part in nationwide support for military children.

Across the nation, Friday, April 12, was the day to “Purple Up! For Military Kids.” People were encouraged to wear purple on that date to show support for military kids and to thank them for their strength and sacrifices.

Marrington Elementary School is a Berkeley County Public School located on Joint Base Charleston.  The student population is made up almost entirely of children from military families.  Marrington offers students many varied opportunities to meet high academic standards, as well as character building and physical activity.

The Marrington faculty has 10 National Board Certified Teachers. Marrington is a Recognized American School Counselor Association Model Program, as well as being a Palmetto Silver Award Winner for the past nine consecutive years.
